Dedicated Circuits in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Big loads need their own circuit — their own breaker, their own wire run, nothing else on it. That's what 'dedicated' means, and it's not optional for equipment that pulls hard current for hours: air conditioners, EV chargers, pool pumps, electric dryers, and workshop equipment.

We install dedicated circuits to code across Fort Lauderdale and Broward County: right-sized wire, right-sized breaker, proper disconnect where required, permit pulled, inspection passed.

What Needs a Dedicated Circuit

Air conditioning systems and air handlers. Level 2 EV chargers (typically a 40-60A circuit). Electric dryers, ranges, and water heaters. Pool pumps and heaters. Workshop equipment — table saws, welders, compressors. Home additions with significant load.

If a new purchase comes with installation instructions specifying a dedicated circuit, believe them. Sharing that load with the bedroom outlets is how breakers start tripping.

The AC Connection

New AC installations often need a new or upgraded dedicated circuit — and this is exactly where our two trades meet. When we quote an AC replacement, our electricians verify the circuit as part of the same job. No surprises on installation day, no second contractor to schedule.

If your breaker trips every time the AC starts, the circuit itself may be undersized or deteriorated. We test it and quote the correction in writing.

How the Install Goes

We size the wire and breaker to the equipment's rating and the run length, route the wire cleanly — through attics, crawlspaces, or conduit where exposed — install the breaker and any required disconnect, label everything, and pull the permit. The work is inspected to code.

Most dedicated circuits are a single-day job. You'll have the written price before we start.

Common questions

Can't I just use an existing outlet for the new equipment?

If the instructions call for a dedicated circuit, no. Shared circuits overheat or trip under sustained heavy load — and insurance notices when the cause was an improper installation.

Do I need a permit for a new circuit?

Yes. New circuits require an electrical permit and inspection. We handle both.

How long does it take?

Most dedicated circuits are done in a day. Longer or complex runs — detached garages, outbuildings — take longer, and you'll know the timeline in writing first.
